HAWKEYE FUNCTIONALITY
The Hawkeye Vehicle Mounted Hawkeye Unit (VMHU) has three components:
- A GPS unit that obtains current vehicle location from the GPS satellites.
- A GSM unit (mobile phone SIM Card/phone) that is used to transmit this position data via SMS or GPRS to the Hawkeye Message Server (HMS).
- A Microprocessor that controls the interaction of the components and allows the customer to program its functioning.
Functioning of the Unit
How Hawkeye Works
- Vehicle Mounted Hawkeye Unit (VMHU) uses GPS satellites to determine the location of the vehicle.
- GSM Chip (SIM Card) in the VMHU uses SMS to send information related to the position, speed, and direction to the Hawkeye Message Server.
- The information is received, processed, and logged by the Hawkeye Tracking Server (HTS).
- The User of the VMHU can access the HTS at any time from wherever an Internet connection is available to determine the current location and recent movement history of the vehicle.
- Access to the HTS is permissible only through a valid password.
- The User controls the VMHU through SMS messages.
